Out and about

It has been a very. VERY. busy week, with a drive up from California to my parents’ house on Sunday and Monday, followed by Daddy-man and me doing our best to eat every piece of pie and cinnamon roll in the Pacific Northwest.

We’ve spent a lot of time at the local park, soaking up the sunshine and throwing a ball around (well, mostly Pumpkin toddling around and holding it, then Daddy-man spending some time trying to kick it through tyres).

We also enjoyed a drive to the coast yesterday and took the scenic route home.

Fun at home

Our home-away-from home this week has mainly been my parents’ house. Pumpkin has enjoyed getting to know quite a few cats, but she’s not so keen on the dogs – I think they’re a bit too nose-in-the-face for her at the moment.

She’s also enjoying testing the ‘other baby’ who lives in the bathroom mirror. She’ll turn around suddenly, flap her arms, and even compare that baby’s clothes with her own. Super-cute.

Today, we went outside to look at some of the other animals together as well – including the horses and the ducks.

Time for me

There hasn’t been much of this since, unfortunately, I had to work from ‘home’ last week. Boo. However, there was an absolutely lovely moment in the park a couple of days ago when Daddy-man wandered off with Pumpkin and I was left laying in the sunshine in silence.

It only lasted a couple of minutes before Pumpkin toddled over and tackled me – but that was nice too.

My favourite moment was…

Getting here on Monday and seeing my parents was definitely a highlight. So was eating all the pie and watching Daddy-man and Pumpkin play together in the park.
