Out and about

Last Sunday, all three of us headed to Brick Lane to have a wander around and eat some market food. Everything was delicious and since the weather was nice, we decided to walk back to London Bridge Station. We made a wrong turn somewhere, but had a good walk anyway. We saw our first Paddington Bear on the Paddington Trail, as well as the Lord Mayor’s coach, the Bank of England and some really lovely doors (I’ve been trying to blog about it all week, but haven’t finished the post yet).

On Wednesday, Pumpkin and I went to a National Teething Week event sponsored by Camilia – a homeopathic remedy. Again, a post is in the works, but I met some lovely fellow bloggers and we were spoiled rotten with lovely cakes and sandwiches as we learned about various aspects of teething and how to deal with it.

Since the event was a bit difficult to get to with public transport and a pram, I decided to wear Pumpkin into London. It’s the first time I’ve worn her in the city and it was really nice not having to worry about the pram or look for lifts. It was the first time I’ve been on an escalator in nine months, too!

Yesterday was my birthday. The in-laws came down for a visit on short notice, so we didn’t spend my birthday the way we had planned – and it’s probably for the best because Pumpkin was in an AWFUL mood. I did get breakfast alone with hubby (Papa and Granny took Pumpkin shopping – it’s the first time we’ve left her with anyone else) and later in the day, we all headed out for coffee, followed by drinks and dinner at Nando’s (I know, fancy!)

Fun at home

Our time at home is mainly spent chasing Pumpkin around as she crawls EVERYWHERE. I put together a box of sensory toys (um, a blog post is coming about that too… I think there’s a theme building here).

Yesterday, Daddy-man and my father-in-law installed some new light fixtures in the living room and kitchen. I know that doesn’t sound like *fun* but, wow, it has made such a difference in those rooms. I’m certainly enjoying it!

Time for me

Once again, there hasn’t been much for me. I did get a good long bath yesterday and, as I mentioned earlier, Hubby and I had breakfast alone yesterday, which was nice – if not terribly calorific!

My happiest moment was…

Our walk through London last week. It was a lovely day and I really enjoy wandering around the city – you really never know what you might find!

Next week I would like to try…

Hubby got me a sewing machine for my birthday! Yay! (No, seriously, I’m super excited about this). Plus it’s PURPLE!

Anyway, I hope to be able to get it out and use it. I also really want to catch up on all my blogging.

Oh, and I got some really lovely looking herbal teas as a Thank You gift for attending the Teething Week event. I want to find a quiet moment where I can sit back, relax and try those.

  1. Ohh I’ve tried the rhubarb tea that we got given – I really liked it (and I’m not normally a tea drinker).
It was so lovely to meet you both at the event, even if I did have to dodge a biscotti. 😉
I found it really good wearing Jasmine around London and now it’s opened up lots of places for us to go now I’m feeling braver about taking her on public transport.
I’m so hungry right now and that photo of your cooked breakfast as not helped one bit!!

Thanks for linking up with us. Hope to see you again next week for our #HappyDaysLinky.

    • I’m not normally a fan of herbal tea, but that rhubarb one was lovely – almost like a non-sweet fruit juice!

I’ve worn Pumpkin into London a few times now. It’s so nice not having to worry about step-free access. I think it’ll be ‘easier’ when she’s walking, too, as I’ll be able to put her down for a few minutes and let her run off some energy. Right now, she gets tired of being in her sling after a while. Of course a walking baby has a whole new set of problems. *eek*

  2. Oh I am jealous about your sewing machine! I have always wanted one although I am not sure it would get used much!
Happy belated birthday- I am also jealous about your birthday breakfast!! YUM!
Hope you have a good week this week, thank your for joining in our #HappyDaysLinky xx

    • I do love the sewing machine – but I’ve not had a chance to use it yet. 🙁 The way things are going, I probably won’t until after Christmas. Boo. Maybe I should set a date for it in my calendar.

  3. Adorable photos!! Happy belated birthday! The purple sewing machine sounds fab!

Thanks for linking up to #TWTWC xx

  4. Wow I am very jealous of your purple sewing machine! Purple is my favourite colour and if given the chance I’d have everything in purple. 🙂 Happy belated Birthday by the way! Vx

    • Purple’s my favourite colour too and I used to joke about how I wanted everything in purple. Then people started giving me loads of things in purple and life became a bit monochromatic. I do love the purple sewing machine though and wouldn’t have it any other way!

  5. I love how you’ve set your post out it reads really well 🙂 im glad you got a little me time and breakfast with hubby it really is the little things in life! Well done on that first time a part from pumpkin that’s not easy is it! Xx
