Our week in photos

1. Apparently, this is where her finger belongs now. 2. Playing with an abacus – do I need to know how to actually use one of these as a parent? 3. She’s gone hands-free in the ball pit. 4. Playing kitchen. 5. She’s so close to walking. I call this ‘riding an invisible horse’. 6. Eating cheese and watching Frozen. 7. Enjoying a biscuit and juice while mummy eats a cookie with her coffee at the Asda cafe. 8. Her hair’s getting so long and wavey! I can’t control it any more. 9. Eating sketti and practising with her spork.

Out and about

We actually managed to get out of the house this week! And I think we’re all over the jetlag too. Hooray!

On Monday, we went swimming. I really want to get back into the habit of swimming at least once a week – we haven’t been nearly enough since maternity leave ended.

Also, I couldn’t believe it when I realised that she’s tall enough to touch the bottom of the kid’s pool (if she stands on tip toe) and keep her mouth above the waterline. Where has my tiny little baby gone?

Tuesday, it was Mini Montessori. Now that she’s standing hands-free, Pumpkin really enjoyed the ball pool. She also did a bit of dancing during song time. After that, we went to Asda to buy a couple things for dinner, and we had drinks and biscuits at the cafe.

Thursday was Sing & Sign and Friday was a quiet day at home, although I did take Pumpkin for a wander around the shops downstairs, trying to get her to go to sleep and I looked at some decorating ideas for our living room.

Fun at home

On Friday afternoon, we had a little dance time – Scissor Sisters, Wham!, Eagles and OutKast all featured. We’ve also been practising walking most days with little jaunts outside.

Time for me

My me time this week was limited, but I spent most of it trying to catch up with blogging – posting, commenting and doing linkies.

I went to my Slimming World meeting yesterday. A 2.5lb loss over two weeks. Not bad, but could have been better if I’d actually stuck to plan last week. Oh well, starting fresh today!

My happiest moment was…

When Pumpkin discovered that she could splash the water in the pool. She splashes a little in the bath, but in the pool, she was putting her whole body into the action and she thought it was brilliant.

Next week, I would like to try…

I really want to try to get out for a walk every day, even if it’s just a half hour or so. Also, I really need to keep sticking to my SW plan and, I know it’s boring, but I need to do some serious cleaning.

  1. You still managed to lose so that is really good. Ive been trying really hard to eat healthily but no idea if it is working!
Glad your over your jetlag and have managed to get out and about. Have a great week! xx

  2. Well done Pumpkin – that’s so lovely to hear 🙂 I’m glad you’re all over the jetlag too 🙂

Thanks for linking up to #TWTWC xx

  3. I’m so glad there’s no permanent damage from visiting with me! I’m proud of you for losing that 2.5 pounds. Amazing work! I’m starting on my Vishakes again in an effort to lose the nearly 20 pounds I’ve regained. I also splurged and used all my Christmas gift cards (and a little more) to purchase an exercise bike/desk. I spend waaay too much time on my laptop. Hopefully, I can pedal away the pounds while I surf the web.

  4. The photo of Pumpkin with her finger up your nose properly cracks me up!

Well done on your weightloss over the fortnight! A loss is a loss no matter how much!

Enjoy your walks this week. I’m looking forward to reading all about your adventures in next week’s Happy Days post. Vx

  5. That finger up the nose photo is hilarious – it pretty much sums up motherhood!!

Well done on the weightloss, I don’t think 2.5lb is bad at all – you’re doing great. 🙂

Ugh, I need to do some serious cleaning too. It’s just finding the time to do it!!
