Since Monday was May the Fourth – otherwise known as Star Wars day – I thought this week’s “What are we reading” post should feature a couple of Pumpkin’s favourite Star Wars books.
Since Daddy-man is a huge – HUGE – Star Wars fan, we’ve gathered quite a few baby and kid-related Star Wars items since Pumpkin was born.
The adults definitely appreciate them, and Pumpkin is happy to oblige. We’ll see how she actually feels about the movies in a few years. 🙂
One of the items we’ve received is this fab Star Wars Villains board book. This was a Christmas present from one of my very best friends. It’s a quick read – six pages, each with a different villain, a description of who they are and a quote.
Pumpkin likes flipping through the pages and Daddy-man and I do our best impressions. I especially enjoy acting out Jabba the Hutt’s quote: “Wo ho ho ho ho”.
The second book we’ve had for a while – How to Speak Wookiee. It was a gift from one of Daddy-man’s cousins, long before Pumpkin made an appearance in our lives.
It’s definitely designed for older kids, but we let her look at it during quiet times. The illustrations are fab and I love having the sound effect bit to play various Wookiee phrases.
The text is also pretty funny to read – very tongue in cheek. With little gems like: “Most Wookiee restaurants will serve vegetarians, but only when they’re in season.”
